FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Elemnt surfboards made to order?

Yes. Our surfboards are built to order in Australia rather than produced as finished stock. Choose your model, size, colour, and fin system when ordering. Once your order is confirmed, your board enters production.

How long does a surfboard take to make?

Our current build time is approximately four weeks. Production times can vary depending on order volume, materials, finishing requirements, and workshop schedules. If timing changes significantly, we’ll let you know.

How do I choose the right surfboard?

Your weight, ability, current board, preferred waves, and whether you want more paddle power, stability, speed, or response all matter. If you’re unsure, contact us with a few details about your surfing and we’ll help narrow down the right option.

What size surfboard should I order?

Each model has its own size range and dimensions. If you’re between sizes, send us your height, weight, surfing ability, current board, and the waves you normally surf.

Can I choose my colour?

Yes. Each model is available in a selected range of colours. Available options are shown on the individual product page. Because each board is individually made and finished, slight variations in colour and appearance can occur.

Can I choose between FCS II and Futures?

Yes. Select either FCS II or Futures when ordering. Your board will be built with the fin system selected on your order.

Are fins included?

Unless specifically stated on the product page, fins are not included with the surfboard.

What construction do you use?

Our standard construction is PU/Poly, using a polyurethane foam core, timber stringer, polyester resin, and fibreglass. Epoxy construction may also be available as a paid upgrade on selected boards. Contact us before ordering if you would like to discuss an alternative construction.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Contact us as soon as possible. Changes may be possible before production begins. Once shaping, colour work, glassing, or other production stages have started, some changes may no longer be possible.

Do you ship surfboards?

Yes. Shipping options depend on your location and the size of the board. Available delivery or collection options will be shown or confirmed during the ordering process.

Can I collect my board?

Collection may be available depending on your location and production arrangements. Contact us if you would prefer to collect your board rather than have it shipped.

What happens if my board arrives damaged?

Contact us as soon as possible and keep the board, packaging, and shipping materials. Send photographs of the board, packaging, shipping label, and any visible damage so we can assess the issue and work with the carrier where required.

What if there is a problem with my board?

Our products come with the consumer guarantees that apply under Australian Consumer Law. If you believe your board has a fault or does not meet the applicable consumer guarantees, contact us with your order details and photographs of the issue so we can assess it.

Can I return a made-to-order surfboard because I changed my mind?

Because each board is made specifically for an order, we generally do not accept change-of-mind returns once production has begun. This does not limit any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Still unsure?

Contact us before ordering. We would rather help you choose the right board now than leave you guessing.
